Last night the Blue Devil volleyball team faced off against Richmond Hill and Trinity Christian. They lost a heart-breaker to Richmond Hill in two tight sets with the scores of 22-25 and 24-26. SHS Alumnus Jeremy Mincey Retires

Statesboro High School Alumnus and NFL Pro Jeremy Mincey announced his retirement from the NFL yesterday.  Jeremy, a 2002 graduate from SHS, was a member of the 2001 State Championship Football Team and a member of the basketball team.  After graduating, he attended college at Butler County Community College before transferring to the University of

SHS Softball Wins 3rd in a Row

Statesboro High’s Softball team picked up its 3rd win in a row Wednesday afternoon with a 9-1 win over Dublin High School in Dublin.  Brinson Anne Rogers pitched all 5 innings, allowing only an unearned run.  The Blue Devils were led at the plate by Morgan Thompson with three hits and three runs batted in.

SHS Softball Defeats Claxton

The Blue Devil Softball team picked up their largest win of the season Tuesday, defeating Claxton High School by a score of 15-0 in three innings.  The Devils were led by McKenney Corbett on the mound, who pitched 3 no-hit innings to get the win.  Every Blue Devil batter in the line-up recorded a hit.

Running Into a New Season

Scott Palmer, coach of the Cross Country team, has started the season off with a bang. Last year, the team only had 17 runners show up to tryouts and this year that number has went up to 30. Coach Palmer says he looks for the top 10 lowest times out of all the Varsity runners

Downtown Statesboro hosts a monthly “First Friday” event. For the month of August, First Friday featured a pep rally including local high schools: Statesboro High, Bulloch Academy, Portal High, and Southeast Bulloch. The bands, color guards, football teams, and cheer squads of various schools met on the courthouse lawn before students, parents, and faculty members.
