The Statesboro High School volleyball teams are back in full swing, coached by Bob Massee for varsity and Karry Parker junior varsity. The varsity team is lead by captains Destiny Hartwell, Hannah Helm, and Jordan Palmer.
Last year, the girls fought in the region tournament and came out in 2nd place — advancing to the state tournament. Unfortunately, they were knocked out in the first round of state and they lost three of their senior players. However, they have come back this year with a goal to advance further in the playoffs.
Volleyball has been back in season for two weeks now with the record of 4-4. Students can look forward to free admission into the home games, competitive action, along with excited and supportive fans to have fun and cheer with. The teams to beat so far this year are South Effingham High School, Effingham County High School, and Grovetown. The volleyball girls with play at SouthEast Bulloch on August 30th at 6 and 7 next week. Come out and support our girls! Go Devils!
